We secure and protect your identity by placing fraud alerts on your behalf to the credit bureaus. This is key, because if someone attempts to use your identity you will be contacted by the creditor. Creditors are required to contact you immediately to verify your identity before establishing any new lines of credit, creating any new accounts or increasing your credit. This also includes verification of any new equity lines, credit lines and mortgages. Anytime you or someone applies for credit using your name, you should receive a telephone call from the creditor and or the bank to verify that your are the person applying for the credit. Once the alerts are in place, you will receive and email from us and you will receive letters from the credit bureaus letting you know that they are active. Also and most importantly, we will re-submit the fraud alerts to the credit bureaus approximatley every 90 days to keep them active. You will receive email confirmation from us and notification from the credit bureaus that this has been accomplished. Next, we remove your name from the junk mail list. Statistics show that junk mail is used by criminals to commit identity fraud. You will be sent an email from us immediately letting you know that this has been accomplished. Next, we will remove your name from the credit card offers list. It has been documented that criminals use the pre-approvals to assist them in committing identity theft. You will be sent an email from us immediately letting you know that this has been accomplished. Next, we will place your telephone number on the "do not call" list. This should eliminate unsolicited telephone calls. This is important because if you receive a solicitation call after your name is placed on the "do not call" list, it may not be a solicitor and you should be on high alert if the individual asks you for any personal information. Remember, you should never provide any personal identification information to anyone over the telephone. Also, at no additional charge we will place a credit freeze on your child's personal information to protect it from identity theft. Criminals know that parents do not check their child's social security number activity and take advantage of this and steal their identity. |
